OUR VISION
The Global Renaissance Alliance is a citizen-based, international network of spiritual activists. Our mission is to make a stand in our local and national communities for the role of spiritual principle in solving the problems of the world.
We feel that a holistic political conversation- one which honors the power of both mind and spirit to help heal the world- is emerging throughout the global community. The GRA is like a mystical grid on which our individual prayers, meditations and actions for peace synergistically merge. As people throughout the world pool our compassion in service to a spiritually transformed planet, the energies of fear and limitation which now dominate the human race will begin to recede.
The Global Renaissance Alliance embodies its vision through small gatherings of citizens called Citizen Circles. Meeting in living rooms, churches, around campfires or anywhere else, we are joined with others of like mind in meditating for world peace; speaking from our hearts about our wishes for a better world, and working together to make it so. The power of the circle, the power of the heart, and the power of our divine source thus come together to co-create a more loving planet.
Inspired by Gandhi's comment that we must "be" the change we want to see happen in the world," we are aware that the universe is holographic: that both the seeds of war as well as the seeds of heaven on earth, lie within each one of us. Within the Citizen Circle, we commit to cultivating an intimate fabric of deep community, and through our individual and joint efforts create real change in ourselves and the world around us. Dedicated to the love of God in ourselves and in each other, we seek to extend the principles of forgiveness, atonement, reverence for life, faith, service and compassion into the political and social dynamic of our times.
Some circles have worked on Peace proclamations in their cities, some are working to create a Department of Peace in the United States, some have worked on saving rivers from industrial pollution, while others focus on trying to help reform our campaign finance laws. All circles pray for peace.
